Email notification

I found out from my sister and brother-in-law that bloggers usually send email notification to followers. (This learning to blog thing is a work in progress. ) I just learned how to do email notification so that people following will get an email when I update my blog. So if you want notification and didn't just get one, email me your email address and I will put you on the list.

Chinese Food in North Pole AK

Met family for Chinese food at the Pagoda in North Pole, AK. I recommend it--fantastic!

Family: 2 sisters, brother-in-law, two grand-nieces.

Very nice evening.

Lovely weather--in the 70's today and predicted for several days.

North Pole--our base for 4 days.

Made it to North Pole today. Our RV park here has no water--no toilets, noshowers, no laundry.
:-(
The snow just melted last week and the ground is still frozen and their system can't be partially opened up--the six rigs here would not be enough to keep the pipes in this huge park from freezing.

Ah, well, we have our own toilet. Guess we'll rough it--we have wireless, cable TV, the stove etc.--but no water except what is in our tank. ;-)

Pics from today:

Two pics of a moose feeding in a pond 78 miles from Fairbanks.

Standing near the Alaska pipeline as it crosses the Delta River 86 miles from Fairbanks.

Standing near Mile 1422 ALaska HIghway--Official end of the Alaska Highway 95 miles from Fairbanks.

O, What a beautiful morning!!!

Beautiful day here. Sun shining, a few clouds, nice breeze.

Pics from yesterday: In the first picture, it is snowing, but you can't see the small flakes. The second picture is of the two moose we saw.

It's hard to say which is a better conversation starter--my diamond willow walking stick or my Gonzaga sweatshirt. Yesterday the chef where we had lunch saw my stick and told how pretty it is and where we cold cut some diamond willow. Later at Jake's corner I met a guy in a WSU sweatshirt from Clarkston. so we had a conversation about the Cougs and the Zags. And last night here, a couple saw my Zag shirt and asked if I were from Spokane. They were from Portland, so we had a conversation about the Zags, Pilots, Trailblazers, etc

Back in the U. S.of A.!!!!

Made it to Alaska today a day ahead of schedule.

Customs was a drag--we had to get out of the RV with our three dogs and have a random agricultural inspection--Idaho is one of the states on their list and we were the first vehicle with Idaho plates. However, we passed the inspection, and they didn't even throw out the onions, garlic, and apples we had purchased in Canada.

Tomorrow we should be in North Pole (south of Fairbanks) and I will post some more pictures.

We saw two moose, several swans, and a whole bunch of Dall sheep on the side of Sheep Mountain--fairly far away but close enough to see more than just white dots. There were a whole bunch of ewes with their lambs. This mountain is a wintering and lambing spot--the rams leave in early May.

Pretty nice day, after some flurries of snow early on.

More pics from yesterday

Signpost forest in Watson Lake, Yukon.

Found a couple from Idaho, and one from Spokane

Same black bear photo twice. Large group of bison--about 15 including three calves.

Cold last night. Snowing this morning. Will try to take pic of snow and post it later.
